Buenos Aires, December 1 (NA) — Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata has a new president, and an iconic moment of the new "Lobo"'s vice president has gone viral on social media.

The La Plata institution held historic elections this Saturday, with 7,749 members coming out to vote. The "Usina Tripera" list, led by Carlos Anacleto, was the clear winner with 74.06% of the votes, according to the Argentine News Agency (NA).

Among the elected officials, one figure stood out: Guillermo Ezequiel Ibáñez, the new first vice president, who is popularly known for starring in one of the most iconic moments for "Tripero" fans.

Ibáñez was the fan who, in the memorable 2009 promotion match against Atlético Rafaela, was on the verge of fainting after the agonizing goal by Franco Nielle to make it 3-0 at El Bosque, securing "El Lobo's" permanence due to sporting advantage.

His presence in the winning list symbolizes, for many "Triperos," the arrival of a leadership that lives with the same passion as the fans during the club's matches.

With Anacleto as president and a renewed list of authorities, Gimnasia begins a new cycle, aiming to move past its administrative problems.
